Epichalcoplethis sanctijacobi

from $69.99

This photograph forms part of a series produced by American photographer Henry Maillet in collaboration with the MuCi Science Museum in Asunción Paraguay. Unveiled in 2024, the collection aims to highlight the breathtaking beauty and incredible biological diversity found among insects native to Paraguay. The image was created through a highly intricate process of merging thousands of individual photographs taken with a custom camera rig and microscope objectives, resulting in a level of detail and multidimensionality that is both scientifically captivating and beautiful to enjoy. Following a successful exhibition at MuCi in Spring 2024, a selection from the project is now available for purchase in a variety of sizes. These professional C-type photographs are emulsion printed on silver halide photo paper, revealing the brilliant colors, striking textures and deep blacks of each image. A portion of the proceeds from each print purchase will be donated to MuCi, allowing Paraguayan children from underserved communities to visit the museum at no cost. I hope you enjoy the photos in your home or place of work as much as I enjoyed creating them—thank you for your support!
